Description

In respect of the Indigenous communities who nurtured the Country for millennia.
This wine began with a love for the land, maturing to the delightfully expressive 'cosmoir' of Krinklewood Estate. It tastes of this very earth - the climate, the water, the sunshine and the soil.
100% Organic & Biodynamic Gewurtztraminer, Verdelho, and Chardonnay grow along the Wollombi Brook, hand tended and picked, then fermented on skins to reflect every aspect of the site.

This wine displays the softest peach colour with bright floral aromas of lychee, Turkish delight and clove shouldered with fresh minerality.
The palate is refreshing and crisp thanks to beautiful notes of lime peel and spicy cardamom.
This wine is a beautiful representation of our Krinklewood “Terroir” as it is the blend of the grapes that grows along the river.
Drink young to enjoy this wine full potential!

Winemaking Notes

This wine was made with Gewurztraminer, Verdelho & Chardonnay. The fruit was hand picked and blended together in the initial stage of this wines journey. The grapes fermented dry entirely on skins (with 20% whole bunches) and partial carbonic maceration. After two weeks of slow temperature controlled fermentation, the wine was pressed off in the Basket Press & cold settled in the tank before bottling early to retain primary fruit characters & texture. The wine was unfined & unfiltered to keep all the beautiful aromatics and colour that Gewurztraminer is so famous for.

"New packaging (no pictures) but these wines look the goods and speak of a different potential for Krinklewood winery with new owners dialling up the natural-isms of the place. Good news. A blend of gewurz, verdelho, chardonnay.

Hazy pale gold colour in glass. Feels a bit unresolved, yeasty, sour-dough and floral stuff going on, but also mixed citrus, green beans, powdery tannins, hay and yuzu going on. Flavours and bouquet in tandem. It’s fresh, nice bite of acidity, good fuzz texture. Interesting and edgy. It’s got mojo."
