Deep ruby colour, displaying elegant and uplifting notes of red plum, boysenberry & mulberry jam. This classic Hunter Valley Shiraz shows a medium body with soft earthly & savoury notes. The blend of new and used French oak gives this wine beautiful notes of clove and vanilla beans.
- Winemaking Notes
The Shiraz fruit was harvested in the cool of the night and came into the winery in pristine condition.
Fermentation was in a combination of small open fermenters which we plunged daily. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation on the skins before being racked into oak barrels, where it matured for 12 months before final blending & bottling. It is a very engaging wine to enjoy now and will develop with further cellaring.

"My favourite wine of this Krinklewood suite by virtue of its inimitable and unabashed regional imprint: on the fullish side of medium but savoury, earthy and dense of extract, all at once. Asian five-spice and lacquer scents meld with poached plum, violet and kirsch. Anise and clove hang off a well-appointed oak frame. Nothing excessive, although on the riper side. Delicious drinking."
