Spider Run celebrates the birth of our premium small batch of wines. Only the best parcels of fruit from various low yielding sections of the vineyard are used. Spider Run is an example of the family commitment to achieving the very highest quality possible and to showcase the benefits of biodynamic vineyard practices.

FRUIT

The 2006 vintage was blessed with excellent conditions.  This combined with our biodynamic practice meant the fruit ripened in perfect timing with the right pH, fruit flavour & baume.

WINEMAKING

Made with Krinklewood’s 3 flagship whites, Semillon Verdelho and Chardonnay, and carefully co-fermented with wild yeast in aged French oak.  This wine is a combination of Krinklewood’s trademark biodynamic whites and gives an all encompassing true reflection of Krinklewood terroir in one multi-variety wine.

CHARACTERISTICS

Pale green-tinged in colour.  On the nose an interesting mix of ripe stone fruits with citrus blossom and barrel ferment complexity integrated well with subtle oak.   On the palate dry but ripe flavours of citrus peel, minerals and spices.  The wine finishes brisk and refined, with a dusty quality and firm mineral spine extending the fruit.

CUISINE

Compliments slow French chicken recipes such as Coq au vin.
