FRUIT
Krinklewood inaugural “The Gypsy” Sparkling Shiraz is handcrafted from our very best carefully selected parcels of single vineyard Shiraz grapes. The 2004 vintage had fewer 40+ degree days than 2003 and this constant temperature allowed the fruit to ripen more slowly. As a result the 04 vintage offers more subtle, savoury flavours ideal for a sparkling wine.
WINEMAKING
This Sparkling Shiraz is made using the traditional methode champenoise; whereby it is bottle fermented, aged on lees, then liquored and left to develop in the bottle for 4 years before disgorgement and further cellaring prior to release.
CHARACTERISTICS
The Gypsy Sparkling Shiraz has steady mousse and fine perlage, highlighting a complex nose of mixed ripe berries and spice. Deep Crimson in colour, this is a medium bodied sparkling wine with a rich flavoursome savoury fruit palate and soft velvety tannins.
CUISINE
The Gypsy Sparkling Shiraz is the perfect celebration wine; try it with traditional roast turkey and honey-glazed ham or simply a Sunday family BBQ.
